Yacht Damage Survey Report

Surveyors are often called upon by insurance companies to survey yachts which have been damaged and which are the subject of an insurance claim. The inspection of the vessel is to determine the cost of effecting proper repairs and to identify any exclusions or 'betterment' aspects which the loss adjuster needs to take into account when processing the claim.

Although working for the insurance company it is well accepted that part of the service to be provided by the surveyor is to guide the owner through the process of the damage claim as the private owner usually has the disadvantage of not being an insurance expert in the field of marine insurance.
